S.P.C.

(Statistical Process Control).

One of a number of Quality Assurance tools particularly suited to Extrusion and used extensively at Altec.

Where it is not possible or viable to 100% inspect every component (particularly difficult on continuous extrusion) S.P.C. can be used to ensure 100% of the production batch will meet specification. This is achieved by sampling the production at predetermined intervals and using the results of sample inspection to mathematically predict the capability of the whole batch or sub batch.
